ABOUT ME 

Before creating NKO VFX, Nicolas Hernandez co-founded the multi award-winning London-based studio Milk Visual Effects and worked as VFX/CG  Supervisor and CTO for six years. Before Milk, Nicolas enjoyed an eight-year stint as a VFX/CG Supervisor and Head of 3D at London VFX powerhouse The Mill. During this time, he led his team on many high-profile TV Dramas earning them a Bafta and five VES nominations. Nicolas started his career in VFX as a  Modeler / Technical Director at Framestore where he concentrated on Modelling, Groom, Texturing, Lookdev and Lighting for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Comfortable in leading and guiding teams of artists to achieve any creative vision and goals, Nicolas has a deep understanding of the entire VFX workflow applying his experience and expertise to every project whilst encouraging the very best out of his team. With his problem solving attitude and excellent creative eye, Nicolas ensures he always meets strict deadlines on multiple shows, even thrives under pressure. 

Throughout his career Nicolas has been fortunate to work with some of the best artists in the industry. His experiences and contacts, could contribute to helping you build a perfect team for any style of project and discipline. As a VFX Artist, Nicolas’ strengths also lie in Modeling, Sculpting, Texturing, Lookdev and Lighting. He also has a good pratice of FX and Compositing and fully understands Production and Editorial requirements.
